Attention: The encrypted message will be deleted after 10 days or automatically destroyed when opening the link! If you lose the link, the message can no longer be read. Please be aware of that.
The messages are encrypted each on the client and server side using AES (256 bit). For decryption, the respective keys are required, which are stored in the URL. These keys are not stored on the server. In addition, the character string that is stored after the double cross (#) in the URL cannot be read by the server. The reading of the client key can only be done on the client side. This means, in simple terms, that your end device already sends the message encrypted to the server and that the server does not have access to the key that your end device has generated. The following applies to the file: The file is encrypted on the client side using AES (256 bit) before uploading. Due to the performance and load of the server, no server-side encryption is used here.
For the read confirmation to work you have to create a user name in the Telegram app. You can enter the username in the field "Telegram Username" here on this website.
The connection is secured by SSL. This means that the communication between your end device and the server is encrypted.
The encrypted message is immediately deleted from the server as soon as the button to read the message is clicked.

1. Which data is processed by Cryptnote?
During registration, the username, password in "encrypted" form, time and date of registration are permanently stored in a database.
2. Does Cryptnote store IP addresses?
Because we had recently more attacks on our server, we decided to store IP addresses temporarily. We do not link any user account information or put any information into context to any of our stored IP addresses. That's not our business. We try to protect our users as much as possible.
3. Which additional information is stored about the user?
After registration the user has the possibility to save a telegram username in his Cryptnote account. This username will also be stored permanently, if the user wants to do so. Alternatively the telegram username can be entered manually before encrypting a message. This will result in the telegram user being stored for the time until the message is retrieved. Afterwards the complete data record is deleted, which also contains the telegram user name.
4. Which cookies are stored?
Cryptnote sets two cookies (PHPSESSID and csrftoken) for the security of the user and Cryptnote itself. In addition, three more cookies (__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid and customerly_jwt) are set by the payment service provider "Stripe Inc", plus four more cookies from our Analytics Software (Matomo) which is installed on our server. This can change at any time.
5. How is information treated?
Messages and files sent via Cryptnote are encrypted with AES (256 bit). Simple text messages are encrypted on the client and server side, files are only encrypted on the client side for technical reasons. We assure that everything is done to keep the users' data secret, secure and in compliance with GDPR. This concerns registration data (username, password, telegram username), text messages and files stored in the database of Cryptnote.
6. Which third-party services does Cryptnote use?
Stripe Inc. (js.stripe.com/v3), Coinpayments.net (redirection to Coinpayments Inc.) and Customerly for customer support. We have no influence on tracking, storing of data by the third party providers used on this platform.
7. Who is liable for the content of the messages created and sent on Cryptnote?
Since messages and files are encrypted without exception, we cannot trace or control which content is distributed or stored in the database. Accordingly, we dissociate ourselves from any content and data or files that are encrypted by users on Cryptnote and sent in the form of a link to any third party.
8. Deletion of data
If you want to delete your user account, you can send us a message to info[at]cryptnote.net. Please replace [at] with the @ symbol.
